School bus torched in Kirtipur

KATHMANDU, JUL 22 - A Modern Indian School bus on its way to ferry students was torched by unidentified group at Kirtipur in Kathmandu early this morning.
Police said that two people sprinkled petrol on the bus (Na 1 Ka 1023) and torched it at Balkhu-Dakshinkali road stretch in front of Laboratory School around 6:15 am. No casualties have been reported as the bus was empty during the arson.
Police have stepped up the search for the arsonists, described as two young Madhesi males with long hair by the eyewitness. The front windshield and seats of the bus have been damaged in the arson.
The damaged bus has been parked at the school premises in Chobhar.
